Who We Are

This Victoria-Saanich Amalgamation Yes Campaign website is hosted by the Capital Region Municipal Amalgamation Society, a local grassroots organisation and political movement, including CRD residents who have long-sought to reduce the number of municipalities within Greater Victoria, in order to improve local and regional governance and performance outcomes.

You can visit AmalgamationYes.ca to learn more about AY’s history, efforts and the success in the 2018 local ballots to have Victoria and Saanich pay for an independent study on the pros and cons of integration and/or amalgamation with each other.

This website is focused solely on achieving in 2026 the recommendation from the Victoria-Saanich Citizens’ Assembly that the two municipalities should amalgamate.

We acknowledge the Indigenous territories of the Lək̓ʷəŋən & W̱SÁNEĆ Peoples and hope to lead local governance conversations about relevant municipal lands and institutions in a good way.
